Internet, faceless and bringing out the worst.

Michael S. Williamson / THE WASHINGTON POST

This evening I was reading an article in The Washington Post about Kenneth Roberson.  A young man who graduated top of his class against many odds and now he is struggling to find a job to pay that outstanding amount he needs for college.

Here is the article:

The Washington Post

The comment section is what got to me.  I really shouldn't read them.  People are ugly when they are not face to face.

All I can say is I hope Kenneth doesn't read the comments.

  1. Having issues with Blogger and leaving comments. Hopefully this works.

  2. Try signing out of everything and clearing your cache. Heard it works for others.
No issues, but Bogger (my new name for them)*evil grin* seems to be messing with widgets again.

Haven't read it, I'll trust you on this one;), but anonymity seems to bring out the bleeps.

  3. I am always amazed at the amount of cowards that stalk the web...leaving mean hateful words on others blogs, articles etc...thank God there are still some good peeps out there like you my friend :)

  4. I typically don't read comments on the articles I read, and if I do, I immediately remember why I don't. I noticed an anonymous comment on someone's blog a couple of days ago...they are never nice. I don't understand what they get out of it.

  5. I am always amazed at the things people will "say" via their keyboard. I've seen it on message boards, comments sections in blogs and news articles such as the one you linked too. It's sickening and ridiculous.

  6. I always find it so disgusting how people can be so nasty to a complete stranger. It's also gutless. I bet nearly all of them would not say it face to face.

  7. I only read a couple comments and wish I hadn't.

    Mean people suck.

Comment Love.
