When it all began.

When T. was in preschool he had to draw a school bus.

T. hated art, hated to draw, hated to be told what to do, hated a regiment.  Not much has changed.

In packing up the house, again, I was going through his memory box and I found the picture.

It made me laugh out loud as I remember the conversation I had with the teacher.

Teacher:  Mrs T-Mom, today I asked the students to draw a picture of a school bus.  The object of the exercise is to be able to recognize shapes and draw them.

Me:  Uh-huh (silently thinking please don't tell me he threatened to bring his grandfathers chain saw to school again)

Teacher:  This was T's picture

hands me drawing

Me: Oh.  Did you ask him why he drew the school bus like this?

Teacher:  Yes

Me:  And what was his response?

Teacher:  He said it crashed.

  1. Love it!

To me, one of the most fascinating things about being a mom, is hearing what comes out of the kids mouths. And their thought process behind it.

  5. It's funny how they can find a perfectly logical excuse to get out of doing something that they don't want to.

These are your words from your July 2010 Are we there yet? blog "I will do things differently next time round ~ I will hire movers and packers while I am having a mani-pedi or just have a huge yard sale because I am not moving this shit again!"
