Divorce has its own tab.

As I was catching up on all the news this morning my eye happened to catch the new tab at the top of the page.  Next to LIVING and HEALTH there is now a DIVORCE tab.

So I clicked on it and voila it has all your celebrities going through a divorce, who is at fault, how to get alimony, more child support, the kids, the car, the house, the dog, the cat, the maid.... WAIT, STOP!!

Is this the norm now?  When I was married to the ex MFSOB (therapy worked out great) for 13 years it was for better or for worse.  I stayed for 13 years and then he moved on, with the ex best friend.  The better part of the marriage was our son T.

Going through a divorce is devastating, going through it publicly is a whole new realm that my little brain cannot even fathom.

In my next life I am going to be a divorce attorney that has a wine bar in her office and a shoe closet full of 8 inch Christian Loubountin's.  Come to think of it, I might just go back to college now and do just that!

By the time I become an attorney I will be going through menopause.  Yup, I will be one ass kicking, wine drinking, hot flashing, got you the maid and the dog, bitch slapping attorney.

I wonder how I can get that all to fit on my business cards.

  1. I'm not getting married. Why? Name one thing you can't do as live-ins but could as married couple... Oh yeah there's one thing I can think of: divorce.

I have nothing against people who are married and keeping it strong, but for me I'd rather not spend the money.

Haha being a divorce attorney sounds awesome (especially the bitch slapping part), but what about all the studying you have to do?! And the bar exam?! And the huge check you'll have to give the university for?! I think you oughta wait until your next life... and stay the bitch slapping person you are now!

  2. I don't know if celebrities even comprehend the concept of "'til death do us part". They, themselves, have gone a long way in propelling the idea that marriage is the new going steady.

And as for your business cards, you can get it all to fit if you print on the back of the card.

  3. Indeed - it's like does anyone really believe Wills and Kate won't end up in divorce anymore than wacko Tom and Katie? The Royals sort of fall into the celeb mode I guess. I studied family law; I kind of liked it. My wife says it would be too stressful mediating on all that hate but I think I'd find it interesting on a level.

  4. Not sure if you were in on it, but I’ve discussed my take on celeb divorces already... and divorce in general.

The stats really make me sad. And scared to get married. Hence BF and I "dating" for 6+ years... blah.

p.s. Glad the therapy worked out so well. ;-)
