Update from a lousy blogger.

Somewhere high up in Idaho.

Don't you just hate it when life interrupts you doing things you love?  Anyhoo, here is an update on what has been going on since I last blogged.

I have been busy, my Saudi boys all left for the summer and I have been busy getting their apartments in shape.  I have also picked up new clients and am averaging 10 hours on a one bedroom, one bath apartment.  Yes, that bad, but I do enjoy seeing the results.

Bear has been away playing biologist and finally after T. was done with finals we drove to Fenn, Idaho to be with him.  If anyone wants to lose weight they should do what Bear has been currently doing, I almost didn't recognize my husband.  We are now known as Jack Sprat and his wife.

Bear started acoustic bat surveys and I have been going with him at night.  It is incredible to hear them and watch them as they fly after their food.  I love bats, they eat mosquitoes.  Mosquitoes are not my friend.

We have been without cell and internet service and it has been wonderful.  Currently we are in Missoula, Montana to celebrate the 4th of July.  Hot shower and comfy beds, I am in heaven.

Bear received a voice mail from Be The Match.  He is needed to donate T-Cells and will be going through the process again on the 30th June.  He does not need to have the follow up shots before donating, but will have to go through the whole hooked up to the machine again.  We were told that the patient is International and currently not doing well.  Please keep her in your thoughts.

I miss you all and promise to catch up on my blog reading when I get back to Oregon.  With regards to me blog posting, you have more chances of winning the lottery.

Go buy your tickets today.

  1. Doesn't sound so bad. Getting on with real life, blogging comes second. But it's alway nice to read what other people are doing.

Be The Match sounds interesting. Is that T-cell therapy rather than bone marrow transplant?

    1. Leslie my husband did the stem cell bone marrow donation last year. I blogged about it here http://nubian66.blogspot.com/2011/11/1-in-9-million.html

  2. Life gets in the way sometimes. It's understandable. Don't stay in the real world too long, though. I've been told prolonged exposure can have harmful side effects like sweating, meeting people and the potential to stub your toe on something. All of that sounds rather unpleasant to me.

Acoustic bat surveys sound interesting. A bit creepy, but interesting. Glad you're enjoying it.

  3. That's a wonderful thing your husband is doing. I am registered with Be the Match. I've yet to BE a MATCH, but that's okay.

    1. Nellie it is quite the commitment when you receive the call. I was surprised to learn that many people don't go through with the donation.

  6. I'm so glad you finally made it up to see him!!! But I can't believe he's going to donate again. I remember it was last Halloween when we met and you both came over for dinner the night before his donation. Wow. He is something special. As are you. Take care. xoxo

  9. Acoustic bat surveys? Sure...that's what you two have been doing at night. Lady Marshmallow and I do polymorphic laser-guided marmot polls. That's what we call it.

Oh, and T- cell info is forthcoming.
